1st Day - The tour goes north, via the Pan American Highway, to cross the equatorial line at Cayambe with a stop at Calderon’s “bread doll” villa. Visit Peguche and San Antonio de Ibarra, places known for their weavers and excellent wood carvings. Overnight at hotel.

2nd Day - Market day at Otavalo: a delight for the photographer. After lunch, return to Quito.

ZT-035 BAÑOS OVERNIGHT (1Night / 2Day FRIDAY)  

1st Day - Departing south from Quito via the Avenue of the Volcanoes, we first stop at Cotopaxi National Park then at the Indian village of Salasaca. Before arriving in Baños we visit a Cloud Forest area with an enormous variety of plants. Pastaza canyon has thermal baths and wonderful scenery. Accommodation at a local hotel.

2nd Day - We return to Quito a different way; travelling through the Patate valley, one of the prettiest valleys of the inter-Andean region. Lunch on the way, afternoon arrival in Quito.

1st Day - Early morning departure by bus via the Pan American highway to Riobamba. Overnight at a local hotel or country inn.

2nd Day - Early morning, depart to Riobamba Station in order to board the train - autoferro to Sibambe. This is a spectacular train ride, gradually descending from the highlands to the lowlands, at times zigzaging, or hugging the contour. Lunch, then drive back to Quito.

ZT-037 QUITO * RIOBAMBA * TRAIN * CUENCA * QUITO (2Night/3Day ONLY TUE, THU, SAT)  

1st Day - Drive south via the Avenue of the Volcanoes to the Cotopaxi National Park, then visit of one of the area’s Indian markets. Lunch on the way and depart by bus to visit Riobamba. Sightseeing includes the Museum of Religious Art and the town of Guano, famous for its rugs and hand-woven tapestries. Accommodation at a hotel in the outskirts of Riobamba.

2nd Day - Early morning transfer to the Train Station: we will go through the Devil’s nose to Sibambe. Following transfer by bus to visit the Inca Ruins of Ingapirca. After lunch continue to Cuenca. Accommodations at a local hotel

3rd Day - Visit Cuenca with its colonial building, churches, museums and shops. After lunch, transfer to the Cuenca airport for flight to Quito.

ZT-038 COTOPAXI OVERNIGHT  (1Night/ 2Day, DAILY FROM QUITO)  

1st Day - Departure south from Quito via the Avenue of the volcanoes into the Cotopaxi National Park, to observe huge herds of llamas and wild horses. Reach the great plateau of Limpiopungo which is simply one of the most beautiful spots of the area. Enjoy super views of the highest active volcano on earth. Lunch at a nearby country inn. In the afternoon, visit the Indian village of Salasaca, where weavers are well known for their wall-hangings. Accommodations in Salcedo or Lasso at a local country inn.

2nd Day - A visit to an Indian colorful market completes this tour before return to Quito though the valley of Machachi.
