RED MANGROVE HOTEL

The Red Mangrove Adventure Inn is an intimate, relaxing, and unique ecological paradise. Nine spacious, creatively-decorated rooms and suites-each carrying a color-theme-offer you the finest of accommodations in a private bungalow nestled among red mangrove trees. Each room is clean, comfortable, and equipped with private hot bath, ceiling fan.

There is also a small pool, a meeting area with plush tables and chairs, a common room with television, and plenty of hammocks for lounging. The inn also has its own boutique, which sells artistic goods and organic coffee, and an amazing sushi restaurant/bar. The Red Mangrove Adventure Inn is pricey, but it will guarantee a truly individual and unforgettable experience. The inn also coordinates a variety of tours, including camping, sea kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, and horseback riding. As such, it offers excellent, custom-tailored alternatives to pre-arranged tours. 

Sol y Mar

This is a very simple and private place with just a few rooms accommodating from two to four or five people. Some of the rooms have ocean views, and all have private bathrooms. The hotel is located on the shoreline road between the pier (a ten-minute walk) and the Charles Darwin researchstation (a five-minute walk). Restaurants and shops can be found along the road in either direction.

The sundeck in front of the block of rooms is a great place to sit and get your first impressions of Galapagos wildlife. Marine iguanas bask on the concrete, brown pelicans perch on the pilings, and a great blue heron patrols the entire patio area.

Silberstein Hotel

The Hotel Silberstein, formerly known as the Hotel Angermeyer, is a modern, intimate, and beautifully-landscaped hotel. It has 22 clean, romantic rooms, each containing private hot bath, ceiling fan and air-conditioning, and a view toward the lush courtyard/swimming pool area. There are 11 matrimonial double rooms, eight double rooms with twin beds, and three triple rooms.

Comfort, style, and attention to detail (not to mention price) are at a maximum at the Hotel Silberstein. A sandy space near the pool can serve as a barbeque-pit or playplace for youngsters. The garden surrounding the open-air bar provides a diverse, eye-catching landscape (as well as providing interesting data for plant and bird surveys conducted by the Charles Darwin Research). And the restaurant and its island-famous gourmet chef serve spectacular and unique dishes to please.

The hotel is located in the heart of Puerto Ayora, it's a very laid back, low key place. A walk away to Tortuga Bay. You can also look into day tours to other islands. It's a good place to relax, go diving, or explore the interior of Santa Cruz. 

Fernandina Hotel

Estrella de Mar

The Hotel Estrella del Mar is the only budget hotel that can offer ocean views. Four of the hotel's 12 rooms face Academy Bay and receive fresh breezes off the water through their screened-in windows. All other rooms are cute, clean, and spacious, and have private hot showers and fan.

A few select rooms have air-conditioning and television at the same prices, so request these rooms if you come between February and April and need solace from the unbearable heat.

It is a friendly place near the water with a comfortable eating area (breakfast is available for a small price), self-service coffee bar, and lounge. The only downfall is the unfortunate recurrent conglomeration of moths in the main hallway.

Castro Hotel

Hotel located near the harbor with private rooms, TV and telephone. Breakfast and meal included at their restorant.
