Day 1: Welcome to Quito

Upon arrival to Quito and all entrance formalities are taken care of, we meet with our tour director, head on to the transfer vehicle and proceed to our hotel.

Fun Fact: Ecuador, South America’s second smallest country is a vibrant indigenous culture with many natural and cultural wonders.

Overnight Stay

Day 2: Quito City Tour – Equatorial Monument

We have a full day planned out for you. Starting early in the morning, we begin to explore Quito, the capital of Ecuador. Quito is best known for its magnificent Spanish-Colonial architecture and colorful street life. We will check out all the main points of interest in the city, before continuing to the Equatorial Monument.

When we reach the Middle of the World, we will enjoy plenty of activities that can only be done at Latitude 0! The monument and park are updated every year with new attractions for returning travelers with an ever improving visitor experience.

Day 3: Otavalo Indian Market

Saturdays are the best time to visit the famous Otavalo Indian Market. You’ll be able to enjoy the sights and buy many souvenirs and more. Time and weather permitting we may also head towards the Cotacachi Cayapas Reserve by the Cuicocha Lake that gives a mysterious sense of tranquility to all who visit.

We end this leg of the trip at Cotacachi, where you can buy some fine genuine leather goods.

Day 4: Quito – Galapagos – Baltra – Tortuga Bay

We start early going to the airport, to transport ourselves to the Enchanted Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival at Baltra Island and all migration formalities are completed, you will be transported to your hotel to get settled in.

After lunch, we will take an excursion walk from Puerto Ayora to the beautiful beaches of Tortuga Bay, connecting with Nature on the way.  This is a leisure day for relaxation, wild life and bird watching.

In Tortuga Bay you will be able to observe:

  • Sea turtles
  • Pelicans,
  • Darwin’s finches.
  • Marine iguanas.

Day 5: Galapagos – Sail to North Seymour Island

We will board a boat that will take us out to Seymour Island. The northern part of Seymour is spectacular for hiking due to its unique scenery, flora and some of its fauna.

At the opposite side of the island, we’ll be greeted by crashing waves and the mischievous sea lions playing and surfing in the sea. Additional fun activities will be scheduled as time permits.

It is impressive to walk around the island and find a great variety of:

  • Birds such
  • Blue footed boobies
  • Male frigates with their red chests,
  • Yellow iguanas
  • Sea lions,

Day 6: Charles Darwin Station – Ferry – Isabela Island.

Our day starts with a fun exploration at the Charles Darwin Station where a lot of interesting new developments happen every day!

A little later, we’ll take a ferry to Isabela Island, home to the Flamingos Lake. The vast biodiversity of the islands is likely one of the many reasons this is one of the favorite spots for visitors of all ages.

In the Isabela Islands you will be able to admire animals such as:

  • Giant tortoises
  • Penguins
  • Cormorants
  • Marine iguanas
  • Land iguanas
  • Sea lions, pelicans

Day 7: The Tunnels – Cabo Rosa

There is something just so mystical about islands, and that includes incredible formations created with the Magma that flowed during their formation. The Tunnels is one such place. These lava spectacle wows everyone to set foot here.

The Tunnels are just one of the many attractions and optional activities you can enjoy at Cape Rose (Cabo Rosa). You’ll be able to snorkel or swim with manta rays, sharks, penguins, sea horses and so much more!

Around the tunnels there is a dry vegetation of the coast with cactus, palo santo and carob trees. Animals that can be observed in this place are:

  • Sea turtles
  • Marine iguanas
  • Sea lions
  • Blue Footed Boobies
  • Albatross
  • Flamingos
  • Manta Rays
  • Penguins.

Day 8: Isabela Island – Ferry to Puerto Ayora – Baltra Island – Quito

Our morning starts at Isabela Island for breakfast and last minute activities. We’ll then take a ferry to Puerto Ayora to enjoy plenty of sight seeing of beautiful flora and fauna. Puerto Ayora is a very populous area of Galapagos, so you’ll find plenty of shops, restaurants and the occasional surprise to visitors.

We end our day heading out to Baltra where we can try to sqeeze a bit more fun before our flight takes us back home to Quito

In Puerto Ayora you will be able to observe:

  • White-tipped reef sharks
  • Giant Galapagos tortoises
  • Sea lions
  • Blue-footed booby
  • Lava heron
  • Common frigate bird
  • Mockingbird
  • Fiddler crab.

Day 9: Quito – Flight Back Home / Continue Extended Tour

After breakfast, depending on the time of your flight, you’ll get a chance to visit the famous artisan market or other last minute sights you may have missed. For early flights, you’ll be transferred to the airport in order to take your flight back home.

If you requested for an extended trip at the moment of booking, arrangements will be presented to you by our agency at your hotel or upon first arrival.

  1. It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
