Otavalo Indigenous Market Tour

Artisans, Craftspeople and souvenirs galore! This daily tour focuses on discovering the indigenous culture as well as to enjoy some time shopping and even haggling for paramount items of the region.

Itinerary at a Glance:

We start the day with a short drive on the Panamerican Highway onward to Cayambe and learn about its emblematic snowcapped volcano, the countryside dairy farms and the plentiful flower plantations that have made Ecuador famous around the world.

As we enter Otavalo at the Plaza del Poncho, you’ll be rewarded with South America’s most important center of ethno-tourism, featuring a dazzling array of textiles and crafts.

The market is perfect for finding souveniers and everyday items such as Ponchos, Wooden Crafts and indigenous Jewelry in gold, silver and other fine metals & stones.

We’ll continue the fun at the Cotacachi Cayapas Reserve where we’ll see one of the most amazing sceneries of Ecuador at the Cuicocha Lake. Then back at Cotacachi you can shop at the amazing leather market for a jacket, purse and so much more!

At sun down we’ll start heading back to Quito.
